Taking inspiration from the state’s leaders and their appeal to assist the underprivileged during the lockdown, Virendra Sachdewa decided to do something significant to help the poor. He enlisted himself as a CoWin Warrior with I-CAN and also coordinated with his contacts and local residents to set up a team of volunteers. Soon enough Warrior Virendra had got a community kitchen up and running in Mayur Vihar, Delhi NCR, with the help of volunteers. The community kitchen helps feed the hungry in the area and the help seekers in the area coming through the I-CAN portal. So far it has fed thousands of poor and Virendra guarantees that the kitchen will continue producing meals twice a day, as long as the lockdown lasts.
